Bookkeeping for property owners

Know what every property really costs, and earns.

Roof Yield keeps the books for your rentals and the home you live in. Import your bank statements, file each line once, and see where every property stands all year. When tax season comes, your rentals' Schedule E is already added up.

How it works

From bank statement to clear numbers

Most owners run rent, repairs, and household bills through ordinary bank accounts. Roof Yield starts from the statements you already have.

  1. Import the statement

Download a CSV, OFX, or QFX file from your bank's website and drop it in. Rows you've already imported are skipped, so overlapping dates are fine.

07/01 ONLINE TRANSFER FROM J SANCHEZ RENT +2,400.00
  2. File each line

Roof Yield suggests the property and category from words you teach it, like a tenant's name or a unit number, and from what you chose last time. Accept a month of rent in one click.

  3. See where you stand

The overview shows income, expenses, and cash flow for everything, just the rentals, or one property. At tax time, Schedule E has your rentals by line, ready to download or print.

What's inside

Built for the way owners actually keep books

Per property

Each property keeps its own books

Income and expenses belong to a property, or to General for costs shared across all of them. See any one property on its own, with its own photo and address.

Your home

The house you live in, too

Track a home you live in next to your rentals: utilities, HOA dues, property tax, repairs. It stays off Schedule E, and the overview can show everything or just the rentals.

Owner's capital

Money you put in, kept apart from rent

When the rentals run short and you cover it from savings, that deposit is marked as yours, not counted as income. One total shows what you have put in and taken out.

Import and review

A month of transactions, filed in minutes

Imported rows wait for your review with a suggested property and category. Repeating payments are grouped, so twelve rent deposits are accepted together.

Line 12

Mortgage payments, split correctly

One payment becomes interest, principal, and escrow. Only the interest reaches Schedule E, and the split is remembered for next month.

Documents

Receipts and leases where you'll find them

Attach photos and PDFs to an entry, or keep leases, insurance, and HOA notices on the property with titles, tags, and search.

Line 18

Depreciation, worked out

Record the basis, land value, and in-service date. Roof Yield shows the straight-line figure beside what you claim, so you can check your preparer's number.

Your data

Private by design. Yours to take anywhere.

Your records are only ever used to run your books.

No bank logins

You choose which statements to upload. Roof Yield never asks for your bank password.

Two-factor and passkeys

Protect your account with an authenticator app, or sign in with your fingerprint or face.

Kept separate

Every account is walled off, so no one else can ever see your records.

Export everything

Download a zip of every record and every file you uploaded, whenever you like.
